Getform is Now Forminit

By Forminit in Updates , Changelog • Published January 14, 2026

For almost ten years, Getform has been the backbone of form infrastructure for thousands of forms. We wanted a fresh start with a new name, but we’re the same team staying on the same path: form backend.

In 2025, while working on our biggest update yet, we decided it was time. Forminit fits better with where we’re going.

A New Era for Forms

Building forms used to be hard. A multi-step form with conditional logic, custom validation, and your own branding could take days or weeks of development. That era is over.

Large language models have changed everything. Developers can now generate sophisticated form interfaces in minutes. Custom logic, complex flows, pixel-perfect design. What used to require serious engineering time is now a conversation with an AI tool.

But here’s the thing: the backend requirements haven’t changed. You still need somewhere reliable to send those submissions. Infrastructure that handles validation, spam, and delivery without you thinking about it.

We’ve been solving these backend problems for nearly a decade. Forminit continues that focus with a major update.

What’s New

Authentication Modes

Form backends have traditionally meant public endpoints. That works for client-side forms, but it also means anyone can target your endpoint.

Forminit now offers two modes. Public mode works like before, perfect for client-side submissions. Protected mode lets you create API keys for server-side use, giving you higher rate limits and better protection against abuse. Use it with API routes, proxies, or anywhere you control the server.

Workspaces

Keep your forms organized. Workspaces are containers you can share with team members. Useful for agencies juggling multiple clients, freelancers managing separate projects, or teams that need clear boundaries between work.

Form Blocks

Form Blocks bring structure to your submissions. Each block type (phone, email, country, select, rating, and more) comes with built-in validation and its own analytics. A phone block validates E.164 format automatically. A select block tracks which options people choose most often.

The result: cleaner data and more useful insights without extra work on your end.

Submission Inbox

Email notifications are fine until they’re not. We built a proper inbox in the dashboard. Star submissions, change status, add notes, switch between inbox and table views. Fast and simple, the way it should be.

For Existing Users

Your current Getform endpoints will keep working. No migration needed, no code changes required. To use the new features, create a new form in your dashboard.
